Canada Student Loans Program - Actuarial Reports
Canada Student Loans Program (CSLP) Annual Actuarial Reports
On August 1, 2000, when the federal government stopped contracting out student loan delivery to private banks (under the 'risk-shared' loan regime) publicly-accessible data had to be assembled once again to provide accountability for the Canada Student Loans Program.
Since that time, much of this data has appeared in annual reports prepared by the Office of the Chief Actuary.
Yes, the titles are dry. No wonder most people don't think of reading them. But Debt 101 gives them a special place in the library because these actuarial reports hold a treasure trove of information about the Canada Student Loans program. This data also comes out on a regular basis, unlike the CSLP's own annual reports.
How much does Canada's student loans program cost taxpayers? How many students are expected to use it in the years ahead? These are just two of the hundreds of questions examined in these actuarial reports.
For even more insights, supplement these actuarial reports with Government Reports on the Canada Student Loans Program.
